R&D Policy

TOKİ, in parallel to the implementations it pursues to offer housing in healthy and viable urban environments in our country, maintains its activities to develop fundamental principles to channel housing and urbanization policies. TOKI, striving to support the studies and organizations presenting theoretical and practical approaches on housing and urbanization, heeds research and development (R&D) activities.

TOKİ's performance has been in tandem with the development of energy efficiency laws/regulations in Türkiye and it has cooperative efforts in order to pioneer the development of affordable green buildings in the existing housing market. In this context, on February 24, 2016  TOKİ and World Bank Group (IFC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to collaborate on green buildings.

In line with the "green development targets of our country, which has been studied under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change; TOKİ has been carrying out studies that will contribute to the process. A documentation has been created that is compatible with the energy, environment and climate change chapters and can adapt to housing production and international sustainable building requirements. With this documentation, base scoring criteria have been developed under 6 main headings for "Creating Environmentally Friendly and Energy Efficient Building Requirements" in project and construction works.
